Week 2: January 18 & January 20

During this week I began to feel better about my decision to stay in the class and challenge myself. One of the reasons was because the readings that were chosen were interesting to me. I could tell they weren't assigned to keep us busy. They were assigned because they were important topics that needed to be discussed. It was nice to hear how other people took them. It helped me to see more than just my view on the subject. In the reading How to Say Nothing In 500 Words, I learned that when deciding what you want to write your paper on you should think of some topics and then don't pick any of those ideas. The reason being, everyone and their brother has already written about that. I decided that I wanted to write my first Argumentative paper, that had to do with our topic of education, on how learning in modulars negatively affects a student's health and education. I also learned how to write a POW introduction to insure that whoever was reading my paper would be interested right away and would want to continue reading. In our discussion forum I revised a boring essay that I had read and improved it with a catchy title and a POW beginning. I then used ANGEL to critique two of my peers posts about their strengths, offer improvements and encouraging words. The only thing I would suggest to improve this week for me is that the online due dates be more known.
